Checklist for attending Court

- Contact a Lawyer
- Wear smart clothes i.e. suit pants and a button up shirt; Looks are important! This shows the Magistrate that you are taking the matter seriously.
- Shave and do your hair nicely
- Do not wear white shoes!
- Make sure you tell your boss/employer that you need the day off
- Make sure you know which Court you have to go to and how long it will take you to get there. Don’t be late!
- Make sure you have appropriate transport
- Make sure you have heard back from the lawyer
- Gather any documents that the lawyer has asked you to get
- Organise for a support person to come with you
