ALL HEARINGS UNTIL AND INCLUDING 4 FEBRUARY 2022 HAVE BEEN VACATED
What does this mean?
Unfortunately, due to the continually increasing spread of the Covid-19 virus, all hearings in the Local Court of NSW have been vacated. This applies to accused persons in custody awaiting their hearing. All hearings will be given a new hearing date sometime in the future. Some Courts are already giving hearing dates in 2023!
Practically speaking, this means that accused persons will either remain on bail, subject to bail conditions, or remain in custody until the future hearing date!
If you have a hearing date coming up that will now be vacated, contact our office to discuss your options!
Can I get bail?
Yes! [In some cases]. If you or a family member is incarcerated awaiting hearing, you may be eligible for release on bail. Contact our office for advice and to make a release application.
